Where are you? (placement)
The first day finds the right starting point in math and reading. No grades.
What it is
A short game that climbs up a ladder of skills while your kid gets them right and steps down when they don't, until it finds the edge. It never says a grade level.
Why it helps your kid
Starting too easy is boring; too hard is defeating. Starting at the edge is where learning is fastest.
Where to find it
It replaces the Big Lesson and Reading the first time. You can change the level any time: Kids → your kid → Ladders.
How to do it
- Let your kid do it alone, in a quiet spot.
- "Too tricky" is a fine answer, it just moves down a step.
- If it landed too high or low, pick the right step on the kid's page. Luna starts there next time.
What your kid sees
Problems or words to read, a number pad or the microphone, and "Found it!" at the end.
