Screen time and breaks

About 3 hours of school a day, with movement breaks, off-screen work, and an end to the day.

What it is

The guided day has eight short blocks: Morning Meeting, Mind Lab, warm-up cards, a math class, reading, a second language, science or social studies, and Closing Circle. Luna builds in a movement break between blocks, sends kids off-screen for experiments, projects and drawing on real paper, and the day ends with Closing Circle instead of more screen. Studio (building games and pages) is extra creative time on top of the core day. If a kid is on Adelante screens for 3 hours without a real break, Luna asks them to take one.

Why it helps your kid

Kids learn better in short focused blocks with movement in between, and you shouldn't have to police the screen.

Where to find it

Today shows each kid's day; the kid's page shows what they did and for how long.

How to do it

  1. Most kids finish the core day in about 3 hours.
  2. Need a fresh start? Start today over on the kid's page resets the day.

What your kid sees

One block at a time, break cards between blocks, and a clear "school's done" at the end.
