Terms of Service
Last updated: October 15, 2026
DRAFT — not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
These terms are between you, the parent or legal guardian who creates the account, and [Company legal name] ("Adelante", "we"). By creating an account or using Adelante you agree to them.
What Adelante is
Adelante is a learning tool for parent-led education at home. An AI teacher called Luna plans, teaches and talks with your kids, and the app keeps records of their work.
You are the educator in charge. Adelante is not a school, is not accredited, and does not issue grades, diplomas or credit. You are responsible for meeting your state's home education rules (in Arizona, for example, the affidavit) and for any program you use, such as an Empowerment Scholarship Account. Records and invoices made by the app are tools for you; check them before you use them. Adelante is not part of, or endorsed by, any government program.
Luna is an AI
Luna's words are written by an AI model. Math answers are checked by code, and we filter what Luna says, but she can still be wrong or say something unsuitable. Look over your kids' work and chats (each kid's page → Chats with Luna), and tell us when something is off (Report a problem).
Adelante does not replace adult supervision. Kids should use it where an adult is nearby.
Your account and your kids
You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of every kid you add. Kids use profiles you create, protected by a PIN; they don't have their own accounts. You give permission for each kid under 13 (see the Notice to Parents About Kids' Privacy).
Keep your password and your kids' PINs private. You're responsible for what happens under your account and on the devices you link.
Plans, the free trial and billing
New families get 14 days of everything free, with no card. After that, the Adelante plan has Luna teach every kid in the family (lessons read aloud, typed chat), and Luna's Voice, chosen kid by kid, adds talking with Luna out loud. Without a plan the school runs in plain mode. Current prices are on the Plan & billing page before you pay.
Plans renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Cancel any time in Plan & billing → Manage billing; you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. [Refund policy: decide, e.g. no refunds for partial periods except where the law requires.] We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Prices don't include sales tax where it applies.
Using Adelante fairly
Don't misuse Adelante: don't try to get into other families' data, break or overload the service, copy it, or use it to harm anyone. Don't add information about people who aren't in your family.
Your family's content
What your kids make (writing, drawings, recordings, answers) belongs to your family. You let us store and process it only to run Adelante for you, as the Privacy Policy explains. You can download or delete it any time.
Lessons Luna writes belong to Adelante. They are written without your kid's name, and after review they may be offered to other families.
Ending your account
You can delete one kid or your whole school any time (Family → Your family's data). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts kids at risk; if we do, we'll tell you why when we can, and you can still get your data.
No promises we can't keep
Adelante is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running and correct, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or produce any particular learning result.
To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about Adelante is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses. [Lawyer: confirm wording and any indemnity.]
Changes and the law
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and ask you to agree again when the law requires it.
These terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, USA. [Lawyer: disputes clause — courts in Maricopa County, or arbitration.]
